We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is responsible for leading engineering, design, technical evaluation, and execution of bulk materials handling projects, from concept development through commissioning.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the review, interpretation, and evaluation of client requirements, project specifications, technical scope, and associated engineering, commercial, operational, and safety risks during tendering and project execution.

  • Perform and verify detailed engineering calculations, conveyor system designs, and bulk materials handling solutions, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, client specifications, and engineering best practices.

  • Provide technical leadership in resolving complex engineering challenges, optimizing conveyor performance, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness through innovative and value-engineered solutions.

  • Support tendering, estimating, and project teams by providing technical input for cost estimation, equipment sizing, design validation, pricing, and bid submissions.

  • Develop technical data sheets, equipment specifications, and procurement documentation, while evaluating vendor proposals and supporting technical bid adjudication and supplier selection.

  • Ensure engineering governance, quality assurance, and technical compliance by reviewing, approving, and validating engineering deliverables, drawings, vendor documentation, and design outputs.

  • Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including fabrication, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, performance verification, and project handover activities.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, promoting technical excellence, innovation, continuous improvement, and effective collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with ECSA Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status progressing toward professional registration.

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in mechanical engineering, including conveyor systems, machine design, bulk materials handling, tendering, project execution, and commissioning.

  • Strong technical competence in conveyor design, engineering calculations, design validation, material flow design, equipment specification development, and applicable engineering standards and codes.

  • Proficiency in engineering and simulation software such as Sidewinder, Helix, Belt Analyst, DEM applications, and AI-enabled design and engineering tools.

  • Demonstrated commercial awareness, cost optimization capability, technical bid evaluation expertise, vendor management experience, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
