What You’ll Do

• Crew Leadership: Direct and supervise a crew (or up to 3 lead carpenters and their teams) to safely erect and dismantle various types of complex scaffolding systems.
• Hands-On & Field Execution: Serve as an active leader on site—working with your tools when needed while ensuring jobs are completed safely and on schedule.
• Site Documentation & Planning: Perform daily JSAs, safety plans, scaffold inspection checklists, delivery/pickup tickets, and extra work authorizations under the guidance of the Field Supervisor.
• Mentorship: Coach and develop scaffold lead carpenters and helpers to help them hone their skills and grow within the company.

📍 Location Requirement: This position is based on-site at our Bessemer branch (35020) with daily travel to local project sites across the metro area. Candidates must currently live in or around Greater Birmingham

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Scaffold E&D Lead Carpenter or approved equivalent scaffolding experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA scaffolding regulations and various scaffold material systems and load limits.
• Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, valid driver’s license, ability to work comfortably at heights, and physical ability to lift 40+ lbs regularly.
• Bonus Skills: Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish).
