The Federal Work Study Assistant Set Decorator is a great opportunity for someone that has an interest in the film industry. This role will provide, you with the unique opportunity to work directly with our team of Faculty & Staff in the School of Motion Picture and Television as well as an  American Academy Award-winning film producer, film director and writer. The Federal Work Study Assistant Set Decorator reports to the Shop Manager with daily tasks regarding shop, prop rooms, set design, and office and studio related responsibilities.
 

Responsibilities Include:

• Reporting back to shop manager daily regarding shop and studio related tasks.

• Helping shop manager to keep track of shop and set related tasks.

• Helping shop manager and the set designer to arrange studio spaces for shoots; painting, moving furniture, using drills and shop equipment as needed.

• Making sure shop and set design room are clean and organized.

• Making sure the prop rooms are organized and clean.

• Reporting any possible hazard around the studios directly to the shop and department manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in set decorating is a plus.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand up for extended hours.

• Ability to carry, lift and move furniture.

Pay Rate: 

$19.61 per hour

Flexible hours from 5 to 20 hours per week

Federal Work Study schedules can work up to 20 hours per week*

Length of Employment: The student's starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
