Position Summary:
We are not looking for a resume. We’re looking for a person. Someone who sees something that could be elevated or refined and thinks, “I can do something about that.”
This position shapes how employees experience Cleveland Area Hospital from the inside, keeping our team informed about what's happening, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, recognizing the people behind our success, and helping bring our culture to life.
You'll work across the organization to strengthen the employee experience through communication, recognition, connection, and meaningful engagement.
And because we're growing, so is this role.
We're looking for someone motivated and eager to help shape what employee communication and engagement look like for the next chapter of Cleveland Area Hospital.
If you want your work to be seen, your ideas to matter, and your impact to reach far beyond your own desk, you might be exactly who we're looking for.
Essential Responsibilities
Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives that strengthen connection, morale, organizational pride, and a sense of belonging.
- Coordinate employee appreciation and recognition programs, celebrations, awareness campaigns, and other culture-building activities.
- Identify creative opportunities to recognize employees, departments, and teams for their contributions, accomplishments, and impact.
- Develop campaigns and activities that reinforce Cleveland Area Hospital’s mission, vision, and values and help employees connect their work to the organization’s purpose.
- Collaborate with departments and leadership across the organization to identify opportunities to celebrate achievements, encourage participation, and strengthen employee connection.
- Continuously identify new and meaningful ways to engage employees, foster connection across the organization, and create an environment where people feel seen, valued, and part of something bigger.
Internal Communications:
- Translate organizational priorities, initiatives, and information into clear, accessible, and engaging employee communications.
- Partner with hospital leadership and department leaders to identify communication needs and develop appropriate messaging.
- Maintain a consistent voice and tone across employee-facing communications while ensuring alignment with Cleveland Area Hospital's brand and values.
- Develop recurring internal communications and campaigns that keep employees informed about organizational news, accomplishments, services, initiatives, and opportunities.
- Assist with communications related to organizational changes, new programs, leadership announcements, and other hospital-wide initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve how information flows throughout the organization and recommend creative ways to reach employees across different departments and work environments.
Events & Employee Initiatives:
- Coordinate and support employee-focused events, activities, celebrations, and engagement opportunities.
- Assist with planning annual employee appreciation initiatives and organizational celebrations.
- Coordinate logistics, timelines, messaging, and promotional efforts for employee engagement initiatives.
- Partner with Human Resources and other departments on organization-wide employee programs and activities.
- Bring creativity and fresh ideas to employee events and initiatives rather than relying solely on traditional approaches.
Collaboration & Organizational Support:
- Serve as a communications and engagement partner to Human Resources, leadership, and departments throughout Cleveland Area Hospital.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employee communications, engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building efforts.
- Maintain awareness of organizational priorities, initiatives, and developments to anticipate employee communication needs.
- Protect confidential employee and organizational information and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive communications.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement:
- Help evaluate the effectiveness of employee campaigns, recognition programs, and internal communication channels.
- Use available data, employee feedback, and participation trends to recommend improvements to engagement strategies.
- Maintain organized records, calendars, and timelines for recurring communications and engagement initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications Required:
- A natural communicator and people-person who is confident, proactive, and driven to get things done. The ideal candidate builds relationships easily, communicates confidently across all levels of the organization, and takes ownership from idea through execution.

- Demonstrated ability to build genuine relationships and connect with people across departments, personalities, and levels of an organization.
- A strong sense of initiative with the ability to identify opportunities, develop ideas, and turn them into action without waiting to be told what to do.
