Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager role responsible for supervising day‑to‑day warehouse operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials and finished goods. This role combines direct people leadership with hands‑on operational oversight, focusing on execution discipline, productivity, safety, inventory accuracy, and service levels.

Job Description

The Warehouse Manager leads daily execution of warehouse activities including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, staging, and shipping coordination. The role is operational and execution‑focused, emphasizing work prioritization, floor leadership, issue resolution, and coaching, while ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
This position includes direct supervisory responsibility for Warehouse Associates.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Execution

Supervise daily warehouse activities to meet operational and customer requirements
Coordinate workloads, staffing, and priorities across shifts or zones
Ensure efficient material flow and optimal use of warehouse space

People Leadership & Supervision

Directly supervise warehouse staff
Assign work, manage capacity, and monitor attendance and performance
Provide coaching on procedures, productivity, and safety
Support onboarding, training, and certification requirements
Participate in performance evaluations and corrective actions

Inventory Accuracy & Controls

Ensure accurate inventory handling, location control, and transaction execution
Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution
Enforce warehouse controls and documentation standards

Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

Enforce safe work practices and proper use of material handling equipment
Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements
Maintain warehouse organization and housekeeping standards

Order Fulfillment & Service Levels

Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and staging of orders
Support resolution of order errors, shortages, or delays
Partner with Shipping to meet delivery commitments

Systems, Tools & Process Adherence

Ensure effective use of WMS, ERP, and scanning systems
Reinforce standard operating procedures and workflows
Maintain accurate records and reporting as required

Issue Resolution & Escalation

Serve as first‑level escalation point for warehouse execution issues
Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions
Coordinate resolution with Inventory Control, Logistics, and Operations

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with Logistics, Inventory Control, Materials, Production, and Customer Service
Align warehouse activities with inbound and outbound schedules
Provide operational feedback to support continuous improvement

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, space utilization, and productivity
Support standardization of warehouse processes and best practices
Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or materials management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, barcode scanning, and inventory control processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing receiving, put-away, inventory control, and order fulfillment
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations, material handling equipment, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize workload, and meet operational performance targets.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business software applications.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments including Operations, Materials, Logistics, Procurement, and IT.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or materials management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience participating in or leading a Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation, upgrade, or major system conversion.
  • Experience with Oracle WMS, Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, Oracle E-Business Suite WMS, or other Oracle supply chain applications.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational change management, user adoption, and process standardization initiatives.
  • Experience developing warehouse procedures, work instructions, and training programs.
  • Knowledge of inventory optimization, cycle counting methodologies, slotting strategies, and warehouse layout design.
  • Experience supporting data migration, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live activities.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement training/certification.
  • APICS/ASCM, CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, or other supply chain certifications.
  • Proven ability to partner with IT, Operations, Supply Chain, and external software vendors to implement business process improvements.
