CBI Bank & Trust is seeking a dynamic, client-focused, and results-driven Vice President, Treasury Management to lead the growth and expansion of our treasury management business. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the bank's treasury management strategy, driving fee income growth, deepening commercial relationships, and delivering innovative cash management solutions that help businesses succeed.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic leader and an accomplished sales professional with a proven track record of generating treasury management revenue, building strong client relationships, and collaborating with commercial banking teams to drive growth. This individual will serve as the bank's treasury management expert and will play a critical role in expanding market share, increasing client retention, and enhancing the overall client experience.
Location: This role can be based in Muscatine, Coralville, Quad Cities, Galesburg, Peoria, or the Stateline WI/IL area.
Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Lead all treasury management sales efforts across the organization with a strong focus on driving new business revenue and fee income growth.
- Develop and execute a treasury management sales strategy that supports the bank's commercial banking objectives.
- Actively prospect for new treasury management opportunities through direct business development efforts, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
- Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers, Private Bankers, and Retail Leaders to identify, pursue, and close treasury management opportunities.
- Participate in joint sales calls and business development meetings to deepen relationships and increase treasury product penetration.
- Establish and monitor treasury management sales goals, pipelines, referrals, and revenue targets.
- Deliver consultative treasury management reviews, identifying opportunities to improve clients' cash flow, payment processes, fraud mitigation, and liquidity management.
- Negotiate pricing and structure solutions that maximize client value while supporting bank profitability.
Treasury Management Strategy & Product Leadership
- Develop and implement treasury management strategies that support growth, profitability, and market competitiveness.
- Evaluate market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation and service enhancements.
- Lead the development, enhancement, and ongoing management of treasury management products and services.
- Collaborate with Operations and Technology teams to improve product delivery, efficiency, and client onboarding experiences.
- Drive adoption of digital banking solutions, ACH services, remote deposit capture, positive pay, merchant services, wire services, and other treasury management solutions.
Relationship Management & Client Experience
- Serve as the primary treasury management advisor for complex commercial relationships.
- Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, and financial decision-makers throughout the market.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to identify cross-sell opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery and responsiveness throughout the client lifecycle.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve client issues and continuously improve the client experience.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop treasury management associates to achieve individual and team performance goals.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on client success, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship on treasury products, sales techniques, relationship management, and industry developments.
- Establish measurable performance expectations and support professional development opportunities.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Credit, Marketing, Operations, and Digital Banking teams to drive treasury management growth.
- Serve as the bank's subject matter expert on treasury management and commercial payments solutions.
- Assist with treasury management training initiatives throughout the organization to increase awareness, referrals, and sales effectiveness.
Compliance & Community Engagement
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Represent CBI Bank & Trust through professional associations, community organizations, and industry events.
- Maintain a strong understanding of fraud prevention, risk mitigation, and treasury management regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional client service.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of treasury management, commercial banking, cash management, payments, or related financial services experience.
- Demonstrated success generating treasury management revenue and achieving sales goals.
- Strong business development, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
- Proven experience developing treasury management solutions for commercial clients.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with treasury management platforms, commercial banking products, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred but not required:
- Previous leadership experience managing treasury management or commercial banking teams.
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), or similar industry designation.
- Experience with commercial payment systems, fraud prevention solutions, merchant services, and digital banking platforms.
- Knowledge of healthcare, manufacturing, municipal, agricultural, or middle-market business segments.
