Description

Are You the Leader People Naturally Turn To?

When a workday becomes disorganized, are you the person who steps in, establishes priorities, and gets everyone moving in the right direction? Do you notice when a vehicle is not prepared, equipment has not been maintained, or an employee needs clearer direction before those problems affect the customer?

Perhaps you have supervised employees in construction, landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, restoration, maintenance, delivery, pest control, or another hands-on service business. You understand that good leadership is not about standing on the sidelines and giving orders. It means setting expectations, inspecting the work, addressing problems directly, and being willing to work beside the team when needed and leading by example.

If that sounds like you, Tailor Made Pest & Wildlife may have the opportunity you have been looking for.

The Opportunity

Tailor Made Pest & Wildlife is a locally owned and growing Louisville company. We are hiring a working Field Supervisor to help our technicians begin each day prepared, complete quality work, care for company vehicles and equipment, and receive consistent field support.

This is not a desk-only management position. You will be actively involved in daily operations, quality-control checks, vehicle detailing, equipment upkeep, customer service, and field production. You will work under our Operations Manager and help turn the daily operating plan into organized, professional field execution.

Pest-control experience is not required. We will provide pest, wildlife, safety, systems, and licensing training to the right person. Previous supervisory or managerial experience is required because we need someone who already understands how to communicate expectations, coach employees, organize work, and hold people accountable.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

Your day will often begin by helping make sure technicians have the job information, products, materials, PPE, tools, and equipment they need. You will review priority jobs, identify potential service challenges, address readiness problems, and help the field team leave prepared and on time.

You will provide clear daily direction under the Operations Manager’s leadership. When technicians have questions, encounter a difficult job, or need help resolving a customer concern, you will be expected to respond calmly and find a practical solution. When performance problems occur, you will address routine issues respectfully, document what you observed, and provide the information to the Operations Manager for follow-up.

You will also conduct scheduled and spot quality-control checks. This may include visiting active or completed jobs, inspecting workmanship, reviewing service notes and photographs, checking device records, confirming materials were used appropriately, and making sure corrective work is completed. Formal employee ride-alongs and performance evaluations will remain the responsibility of the Operations Manager, although you may participate when requested.

Vehicle and Equipment Care

Have you ever worked somewhere that lost valuable time because vehicles were disorganized or equipment was dirty, missing, or not ready? Part of your responsibility will be preventing those problems at Tailor Made Pest and Wildlife.

As Field Supervisor, you will personally detail one assigned company vehicle each week according to a rotating schedule. This will include deep-cleaning the cab, floors, seats, windows, storage areas, and cargo area; cleaning the exterior when conditions permit; reorganizing and restocking the vehicle; inspecting for visible damage or maintenance concerns; and documenting the work completed.

You will also clean, inspect, organize, and help maintain company sprayers, traps, ladders, wildlife equipment, tools, application equipment, and other shared field equipment. When something is damaged or unsafe, you will remove it from service, notify the Operations Manager, and help coordinate an approved repair or replacement. This is a hands-on responsibility, not simply something you will assign to another employee.

Field Service and Production

Once trained, you will run a reduced pest-control or wildlife route representing approximately 40%–50% of normal technician capacity. When you are assigned approximately 50% route capacity, the initial personal production target will be approximately $10,000 per month.

Production expectations will be evaluated fairly. Time spent completing vehicle detailing, equipment upkeep, quality-control checks, technician support, customer recovery, training, or other management-directed responsibilities will be considered when reviewing your available production capacity.

You may also identify additional customer needs and recommend appropriate services. Eligible new or additional work that you personally sell may qualify for sales commission under the company’s written commission plan. We expect honest recommendations based on the customer’s actual needs, not pressure or overselling.

Who Will Succeed in This Position?

You may be a strong fit if you have previous supervisory, management, foreman, assistant-manager, or team-lead experience and enjoy being involved in the actual work. You should be comfortable addressing problems directly without disrespecting employees, and you should understand that accountability requires clear expectations and consistent follow-up.

You do not need to arrive knowing everything about pest or wildlife control. You do need to be willing to learn, follow product labels and safety requirements, obtain required credentials, use company technology, and accept coaching from people with technical industry experience.

We are particularly interested in leaders with experience managing field employees, routes, crews, vehicles, equipment, service quality, or customer concerns. Mechanical aptitude, home-service experience, and experience conducting quality inspections are helpful but not required.

A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving and insurance requirements are required. Dependable attendance and early-morning availability are also essential.

What Would Success Look Like?

Imagine beginning the day with technicians who know where they are going, understand what each job requires, and have the correct equipment. Vehicles are cleaner, shared equipment is ready, service documentation is complete, and preventable problems are being identified before they become customer complaints.

Success in this role means the field team receives consistent direction, quality-control checks are completed, vehicles and equipment are maintained, customer concerns are handled professionally, and the Operations Manager receives accurate information about what is happening in the field. It also means company leadership spends less time resolving routine problems because you are following through on them.

Compensation and Benefits

This position pays $25–$30 per hour, depending on directly relevant supervisory, managerial, field-service, and industry experience. The position is overtime eligible and includes sales commission.

Tailor Made Pest and Wildlife provides paid pest and wildlife training and assistance obtaining required industry credentials. Additional benefits may include paid time off, retirement benefits, supplemental health benefits, and advancement opportunities.

Physical and Working Conditions

This is an active field position. You must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather, drive between customer locations, enter homes and businesses, clean vehicles and equipment, and work around insects, rodents, nuisance wildlife, odors, dust, and debris.

After receiving the required training, the position may involve pest-control products, traps, tools, ladders, attics, crawlspaces, roofs, elevated surfaces, and other physically demanding environments. All work must be completed according to company safety procedures, product labels, licensing requirements, and PPE standards. Reasonable accommodation will be considered for qualified individuals as required by applicable law.

Is This the Right Next Step for You?

Are you looking for more than another supervisor title? Would you like to help shape how a growing field team operates while still being close enough to the work to see the results of your leadership?

If you can bring organization, accountability, calm decision-making, and consistent follow-through, we can teach you the pest and wildlife industry. If you are ready to lead from the field, care for company resources, support technicians, and help build a stronger daily operation, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your resume along with a short explanation of the type of team you have supervised and how you helped improve its performance.

Tailor Made Pest & Wildlife provides equal employment opportunities and makes employment decisions based on legitimate job-related qualifications and business needs.
