Lead QA Engineer

This is a Lead QA Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for devising test strategies, conducting and/or coordinating tests, and identifying defects to maintain high standards of performance and reliability.

The Lead QA Engineer will Implement and own Continuous Delivery, Deployment, and Monitoring using Morgan Stanley's strategic tools and infrastructure, while continuously improving existing processes and identifying opportunities for further enhancements.

What You’ll do in the role:

• Work in fast-paced release cycles to deliver key business changes to production within stipulated timelines. 

• This includes building test and deployment pipelines, deploying test environments on demand, preparing input data, running regression tests both ad hoc and from pull requests, automating manual tests, automating production deployments, supporting phased releases, and validating and monitoring production systems.

• Work closely with developers, QA teams, and production operations.

• Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization to discuss opportunities for improving existing and future technology solutions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Ability to effectively manage multiple functions and provide guidance to junior staff while leading key initiatives.

• Advanced understanding of the business line and discipline, with some knowledge of the competitive environment and related disciplines.

• This includes building test and deployment pipelines, deploying test environments on demand, preparing input data, running regression tests both ad hoc and from pull requests, automating manual tests, automating production deployments, supporting phased releases, and validating and monitoring production systems.

• Strong DevOps expertise and knowledge of best practices are required to understand system architecture and infrastructure and adapt them to meet business goals.

• Experience with Java is desirable.

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $155,000 and $215,000 per year at the commencement of employment.  However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
