Description
The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
- Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
- Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
- Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
- Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

We are seeking a talented and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our enterprise-wide reporting and analytics solutions. In this role, you will transform raw data into actionable business insights by building robust data models, interactive dashboards, and self-service analytics tools.
You will work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and executive stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver intuitive, high-performance visualization solutions that drive data-backed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

- Dashboard & Report Development: Design, build, and maintain highly interactive, visually appealing, and user-friendly dashboards and reports using enterprise BI tools (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy).
- Data Modeling & Semantic Layers: Design and implement efficient semantic layers, data models (Star/Snowflake schemas), and aggregated tables in the data warehouse to support fast and reliable reporting.
- SQL & Query Optimization: Write complex, optimized SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various enterprise databases and cloud data warehouses.
- Business Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional business units to gather reporting requirements, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Data Quality & Governance: Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reports by implementing validation checks and adhering to enterprise data governance and security standards.
- User Enablement: Provide training, documentation, and support to business users to promote self-service BI capabilities and foster a data-driven culture.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- BI & Visualization Tools: Deep expertise in at least one major BI platform.
- SQL Mastery: Advanced knowledge of SQL (analytical functions, complex joins, subqueries, and query performance tuning).
- Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema), and ETL/ELT processes.
Preferred:
- Programming: Basic proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and scripting.
- ETL/Data Prep: Experience with data transformation tools and SQL-based ETL pipelines.
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git and version control workflows for BI assets
- UX Expertise – Familiarity of UX design and standards
Experience & Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field.
- Experience:
- 6+ years of professional experience as a BI Engineer, BI Developer, or Data Analyst with a heavy focus on engineering and visualization.
- Proven track record of delivering production-grade dashboards and reporting suites to business stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
