Description
Working closely with colleagues across Commercial, Sales Ledger and IT, you’ll investigate discrepancies, follow issues through to resolution and help ensure pricing and trade data is accurate. You’ll need strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to ask questions and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate pricing information to customers on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, according to their requirements
- Reconcile customer pricing data from multiple sources and prepare accurate data for automated invoicing
- Review pricing for new sales and purchase trades, ensuring accuracy before other teams complete the trade setup process
- Review and action price corrections received from pricing quote sources
- Create manual price sheets to verify pricing information held within internal systems
- Identify and communicate issues or discrepancies relating to trade capture clearly and promptly
- Follow up and verify trade amendments
- Investigate and resolve customer pricing queries
- Work closely with Commercial, Sales Ledger and IT teams, building effective relationships and supporting accurate trade capture and invoicing
- Carry out peer review checks as part of the audit process.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong IT literacy, including proficiency across Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
- Experience of reconciling and analysing data from multiple sources
- AAT qualification, or active study towards a relevant professional qualification, is desirable
- Willingness and ability to develop a working knowledge of Platts and Argus pricing and complete pricing conversions, including US dollars per tonne to pence per litre; training will be provided
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a high level of numeracy
- Confidence to identify and challenge discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise work calmly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build credible and trusting relationships across the business
- Ability to recognise and solve problems quickly and explain complex issues in clear, simple terms
