As our Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Lead, you will provide quality patient care and perform high-quality images and exams, serving as a clinical resource and role model for associate technologists within the medical imaging department. Every day you will maintain sensitivity to patient needs, demonstrate leadership abilities, assure current standards of practice for the unit, and provide crucial shift leadership and support to the Imaging staff. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced technical proficiency in diagnostic medical sonography, strong leadership and mentoring skills, a deep commitment to patient care and quality imaging, and the ability to effectively guide a team and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Provides leadership, support and coordination to Imaging technical and support staff.
  • Assists in directing, organizing and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
  • Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retro peritoneal, small parts and vascular.
  • Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
  • Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and appropriate documentation prior to forwarding to the radiologist for interpretation.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Two (2) years of ultrasound experience
  • For entities with shortages of qualified personnel, must be obtained within one (1) year of hire; otherwise is required: ARDMS registered RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR); or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT)ARDMS registered RVT(VT) or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT);or ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
  • BLS through American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous leadership experience
  • For the state of UT: LRT
