Job Description Summary

               

This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of all electrical equipment plant wide and for performing maintenance functions throughout the plant as assigned or directed by supervisory personnel while working under limited supervision.

Job Description

  • Design control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot complicated electrical and electronic systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot PPLC’s with the aid of the P.C. programming equipment.
  • Calibrate and repair plant electrical and electronic equipment such as but not limited to: Ref Lion read-outs, Taylor and Fisher controllers, Allen Bradley VFDs and recorders, electronic scales, metal detectors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer terminals, solid state control boards, variable frequency controllers, pneumatic actuators, PLC’s.
  • Run conduit and wiring per NEC
  • Perform regular assigned Plant checks.
  • Keep logs up to date.
  • Assist with proper start-up and shut-down of plant equipment.
  • Effectively direct maintenance crews to accomplish set goals.
  • Develop work lists and equipment modification recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Pull wire, Install Conduit, Light fixtures, and other electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot low and high voltage systems

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications:

  •      Two-year Electrical Certification or equivalent experience and/or education
  •      Three Years Industrial electrical experience

Skills and Experience:

  • Read, draw and edit electrical and electronic schematics
  • Proficient use of electrical testing equipment (MultiMeter, Megger, Circuit tracer)
  • Proficient with power hand tools, conduit bender, pipe threader.
  • Experience diagnosing high and low voltage circuits.
  • Equipment repair, overhaul and trouble shooting.
  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to communicate using plant 2-way radio system.

Physical Environment/Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. 
  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 12 hours per work day to include:  loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies 
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures. 
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. 
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work related equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
  • May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs, ladders and scissor lifts on a regular basis

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below.

               

Pay Rate or Range: $36.03
