Your Team
The Lead, Identity & Access Management (IAM) User Operations role is responsible for owning and driving Identity & Access Management (IAM) governance, controls, and operational outcomes across enterprise platforms. This position partners with security, technology, audit, and business stakeholders to ensure IAM processes are secure, compliant, and scalable.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, risk awareness, and the ability to influence IAM control maturity across platforms such as Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
As a member of Central Security Services (CSS), you will play a critical role in protecting enterprise resources, strengthening access governance, and advancing security controls across a global organization. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern IAM technologies, drive automation and process improvements, and partner with leaders across Security, Risk, Audit, and Technology to deliver secure and efficient access management solutions.
Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis at least 3 days per week. This role will require intermittent work outside of standard business hours to support operational needs.
Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
Oversee IAM operational processes and outcomes, ensuring efficient, secure, and compliant access management across enterprise platforms.
Evaluate access-related risks, exceptions, and control gaps while determining and implementing appropriate mitigation actions.
Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Audit, Compliance, Risk, and business teams to support IAM requirements, address escalations, and resolve complex access-related challenges.
Identify opportunities to enhance IAM processes and leverage automation and PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness.
Maintain IAM operational standards, procedures, documentation, reporting, and metrics to support governance and audit readiness.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to team members while promoting IAM best practices and continuous improvement.
Partner with audit, risk, and compliance teams to support remediation efforts, strengthen controls, and ensure ongoing regulatory and policy compliance.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience accepted
4-7 years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), security operations, infrastructure, or related technical roles
Demonstrated experience owning or leading IAM operational activities and controls
Strong understanding of access provisioning, certifications, entitlement management, and access governance principles
Hands-on experience with PowerShell for administration, reporting, or automation
Ability to evaluate access-related risks and make sound decisions within established control frameworks
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical IAM concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
Experience supporting or improving operational processes within a regulated or highly controlled environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ServiceNow or similar Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) platforms
Experience supporting IAM operational processes, including:
Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) lifecycle management
Access certifications and periodic access reviews
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Segregation of Duties (SoD) analysis and exception remediation
Audit evidence generation and issue remediation
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including group and role administration
Exposure to Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions
Experience implementing automation to improve operational efficiency and user experience
Communication skills – written and verbal for a variety of associates at different levels and information security knowledge
Analytical – troubleshooting with a risk-based mindset

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $114,500.00 to $188,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
