DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

May include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Own the process of developing and implementing a quality production program to ensure conformity of all extruded material and PVC pipe to quality standards.  
  • High attention to detail, maintain and update the Quality Assurance Manual.  
  • Analytical with a passion for details, review quality trends, track root cause of problems and coordinate correction procedures.   
  • Direct Interaction with customers, analyze all product returns from the field.   
  • Problem solver, provide technical and quality support to Supervisors and Plant Manager. 
  • Oversee inspection and testing of finished products. 
  • Initiate/recommend procedures for continuous improvement, including establishing new or revised quality standards, inspection methods and process controls.  
  • Supervise and enforce quality document control and record-retention requirements; direct personnel to review and maintain accurate quality records, and ensure files are retained and aligned in accordance with established schedules and audit/compliance standards. 
  • Train plant personnel in quality requirements including critical characteristics, measurement tools and aesthetic attributes.  
  • Oversee the site quality measurement and calibration program; establish, issue, calibrate, and maintain all quality and shift measurement tools and related records to ensure ongoing compliance and readiness. 
  • Maintain and administer controlled reference documentation for production operations, including establishing standards for creation, revision control, distribution, and periodic review of current product drawings and packaging instructions. 
  • Prepare for and respond to company audits.  
  • Coordinate and approve all sample submission of new product and engineering changes 
  • Plan, coordinate, Supervisoe and direct the duties and responsibilities of all quality assurance personnel.  

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Technical Degree preferred, coursework in mathematics, statistics and industrial practices required 
  • 3-5 years quality control experience required. 
  • 5 years practical experience in PVC extrusion preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
