The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Malvern, PA
Shift: Sunday - Thursday | Flexible first-shift start time 11 PM - 7:30 AM end time.
On-Call Requirements:
· Paid on-call rotation approximately once per quarter, shared among four managers.
Salary range: $73,000 -$79,000 annual base salary, with eligibility for up to a 5% annual bonus.

What we’re looking for
Education:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Experience:
· Previous experience working within a laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, research, or regulated industry environment.
· Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams and operational functions.
· Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
· Exceptional attention to detail, including reviewing and analyzing operational data in Excel.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
· Experience working with SAP, vendor management systems, or similar data management platforms.
Additional Requirements:
· Ability to lift 50 lbs
· Previous experience in a GMP-regulated facility is strongly desired
· Strong communication skills
On-Call Requirements:
· Paid on-call rotation approximately once per quarter, shared among four managers.
· Must be available to respond to occasional after-hours calls related to gas manifold alarms and liquid nitrogen cylinder exchanges.
· On-site response may be required during on-call periods, although events typically occur only one to two times per year.
· Required to report on-site at least once per quarter during scheduled on-call rotation.

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Oversee onsite calibration activities for laboratory instruments and critical equipment across multiple buildings, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with established standards.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of calibration activities within Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platforms.
Coordinate and support calibration work performed independently and in team environments, utilizing peer-review processes to maintain quality and accuracy.
Manage daily operational workflows, including work prioritization, resource allocation, communication management, and execution of scheduled calibration activities.
Lead cross-functional training initiatives to develop a flexible workforce capable of supporting calibration operations across all site locations.
Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols, gowning requirements, and contamination control procedures during calibration activities in controlled environments.
Oversee work order management and ensure proper application of lockout/tagout procedures for equipment requiring maintenance, repair, or calibration intervention.
Supervise preventive maintenance and operational readiness activities for laboratory support equipment, including water bath cleaning, servicing, and upkeep.
Promote a safe work environment by ensuring adherence to PPE requirements, safety regulations, and site-specific environmental health and safety standards.
Manage relationships and service performance of third-party vendors supporting dry ice, garment, and industrial gas services.
Monitor and drive site performance through the management of key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing quality, efficiency, compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure all laboratory support operations comply with applicable regulatory, GxP, customer, and company quality standards.
Partner with internal and external customers to address operational needs, resolve escalations, and support strategic service planning initiatives.
Support talent management activities, including recruiting, onboarding, performance coaching, employee development, succession planning, and retention efforts.
Manage site operational performance, workforce utilization, labor productivity, and resource planning to achieve business objectives.
Serve as the primary leadership contact for laboratory support and calibration operations, providing direction, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as required to support site and organizational objectives.
