Your Role:
As an Electrical Project Engineer II, you will play a key role in the complete electrical design and execution of Vanderlande's automation projects. From power distribution and electrical component selection to control diagrams, cabling specifications, installation, and commissioning, you will ensure that electrical solutions are designed and delivered in line with project requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
You will work closely with engineers, installers, suppliers, and global project stakeholders to develop practical and efficient electrical designs using advanced CAD tools such as AutoCAD and EPLAN.
What you will do/Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design & Engineering
Manage and execute electrical engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
Develop detailed electrical designs covering power distribution, control systems, and electrical components.
Prepare detailed electrical drawings, including:
Power calculations
Cable calculations
Cable tray systems
Power distribution
Bill of Materials (BOM)
Design control diagrams using industrial communication technologies such as PROFINET and AS-i.
Specify Siemens PLC hardware and industrial communication networks including PROFIBUS, PROFINET, TCP/IP, Serial, and AS-i.
Design electrical enclosures and prepare complete manufacturing drawing packages.
Develop total cabling specifications, installation drawings, and assembly instructions.
Utilize AutoCAD and EPLAN to deliver accurate and high-quality electrical engineering documentation.
Project Execution & Technical Coordination
Coordinate electrical engineering activities from project initiation through completion.
Collaborate with other engineers and disciplines to develop and implement effective technical solutions.
Translate electrical designs into clear instructions for installers and support teams.
Coordinate with electrical cabinet suppliers and follow up on manufacturing activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Specify and follow up on field wiring materials required at project sites.
Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant regulations, engineering standards, and project requirements.
Estimate, plan, monitor, and control the assigned electrical engineering scope.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members, installers, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Installation & Commissioning Support
Support and supervise electro-mechanical installation activities at customer sites.
Provide technical guidance to installers during electrical installation.
Prepare and maintain commissioning checklists for complete system installation.
Support electro-mechanical commissioning, from initial connections through testing of the final I/O.
Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues during installation and commissioning.
Ensure that project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and according to required quality standards.
What you bring:
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
4–6 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering/project execution.
Strong hands-on experience with:
AutoCAD
EPLAN
Electrical power and control systems
Electrical cabinets
Sensors and actuators
Good knowledge of:
Siemens PLC hardware
PROFIBUS
PROFINET
TCP/IP
Serial communication
AS-i networks
Experience with:
Power calculations
Cable calculations
Cable tray design
Power distribution
BOM preparation
Electrical enclosure design
Field wiring
Cabinet supplier coordination
FAT activities
Understanding of electrical installation and electro-mechanical commissioning.
Ability to understand the complete project lifecycle and manage assigned engineering scope.
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong ownership, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn.
Ability to collaborate with project counterparts and stakeholders across different countries.
Willingness to travel to project/customer sites.
Knowledge of the material handling and logistics automation domain is an added advantage.
