Description
The Aircraft Mechanic II - Egress performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Remove/install canopies, ejection seats
- Perform periodic maintenance of all cockpit egress and life support systems of moderate difficulty, such as seats, canopies, CADs, heating/cooling systems
- Inspects and operates powered and nonpowered aerospace ground equipment.
- Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation.
- Maintain aircraft support equipment and orderly workspace.
- Interpret Maintenance Instruction Manuals, maintenance requirement cards, work from related schematics, diagrams, drawings, technical directives, maintenance/servicing instructions and operational written procedures and Company directives to perform maintenance.
- Install and remove cartridge actuated devices.
- Performs inspections and maintenance of aircraft air conditioning systems, fire warning/extinguishing systems.
- Identifies and treats corrosion.
- Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, removes and replaces associated parts and components on a variety of systems, such as aircraft, cabin environmental and pressurization systems, equipment cooling, liquid/gaseous and OBOGS oxygen systems.
- Perform related duties in hazardous areas such as oxygen system, engine fire extinguishing systems including the removal and replacement of cartridge-actuated devices.
- Maintains foreign object damage (FOD), hazardous waste, and tool control programs.
- Shall adhere to all applicable Amentum policies and procedures.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must have completed Egress Course.
- Must have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
- Shall have completed and be able to document the appropriate T/M required/ series preferred Navy Egress class
- Must have Five (5) years of applicable aircraft maintenance support experience.
- Three (3) or more years of T6 aircraft experience.
- Must have experience and thorough working knowledge in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
- Shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft systems
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions and special tools and test equipment.
- Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.
- Must be customer oriented.
