Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Land Survey Party Chief for an onsite, field-based opportunity in Binghamton, New York. This position performs field surveys throughout New York and may work independently or with another survey professional. The role combines hands-on field surveying, small-crew supervision, survey data collection, construction layout, and in-office CAD and deed research responsibilities.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Survey Party Chief will perform field surveys throughout New York using robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and data collection software. This position requires experience with property line, boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction layout surveys as well as the ability to properly collect, download, and upload field data in accordance with established procedures.
The Party Chief will also perform in-office work involving CAD mapping with MicroStation and AutoCAD, deed research, and deed plots. This is a year-round field position requiring the ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
COMPENSATION
• Salary Range: $51,000-$60,000
• Pay Rate Information: $25-$28/Hour + Company Vehicle + Cell Phone
• Overtime And Wage Rate Incentives

FIELD SURVEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Run And Supervise A One- Or Two-Person Field Crew
• Prepare Field Notes, Sketches And Photos
• Collect Data For Boundary, Topographic, Utility, Construction Layout, Wetlands, ALTA/NSPS, Project Levels And Other Types Of Surveys
• Perform Construction Layout
• Utilize Robotic Total Stations, Optical / Digital Levels And GPS
• Perform Daily Downloads Of Data Collector Files
• Follow Procedures For Uploading And Downloading Survey Data
• Maintain Survey Equipment And Vehicles In Accordance With Company Protocols
• Interface With Clients In The Field
• Report Project Status To The Assigned Project Manager
OFFICE / TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform CAD Mapping With MicroStation And AutoCAD
• Perform Deed Research
• Prepare Deed Plots
• Collect And Manage Field Data For Field-To-Finish Procedures
FIELD ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL
• Perform Field Surveys Throughout New York
• Work Independently And / Or With Another Survey Professional
• Perform Year-Round Outdoor Field Work
• Work In Wet, Cold And Hot Weather Conditions
• Carry Survey Equipment And Lift Heavy Objects
• Travel As Required
• Nights And Weekends May Be Required

REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 3 Years Of Experience As A Party Chief On A Field Survey Crew REQUIRED
• Experience With Property Line And Boundary Surveys REQUIRED
• Experience With Topographic Surveys REQUIRED
• Experience With ALTA Surveys REQUIRED
• Experience With Construction Layout REQUIRED
• Two-Year Associate Degree REQUIRED
• Experience With Leica Robotic Total Stations And GPS REQUIRED
• Proficiency With Leica Data Collection Software REQUIRED
• Proficiency With MicroStation REQUIRED
• Proficiency With AutoCAD REQUIRED
• Proficiency With Microsoft Office Suite REQUIRED
• Experience Running / Supervising A Small Field Survey Crew REQUIRED
• Valid Driver's License REQUIRED
• Clean Driving Record REQUIRED
• Willingness To Travel REQUIRED
• Ability And Willingness To Perform Full-Day Outdoor Field Work REQUIRED
