Family Life Academy Charter School (commonly called FLACS) is a nonprofit network of high-performing charter schools in the South Bronx. FLACS, together with the Latino Pastoral Action Center and parents, create the conditions for self-empowerment for all its K-12 students to excel academically, take responsibility for their own learning, and affirm human values, today, in college, and beyond. Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment (SRE), the Student Recruitment and Enrollment (SRE) Coordinator supports the overall work of student recruitment and enrollment, and assists the Marketing & Communications and Family & Community Engagement departments. The SRE Coordinator acts as a trusted partner to the school SRE teams, families, and community-based organizations (CBOs). S/he coordinates student outreach activities, and manages applicant and lottery follow-up. S/he helps streamline student enrollment operations and strengthens family engagement, while reducing the administrative burden on school-based staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an active presence in all 5 schools, collaborating with school SRE teams to conduct student outreach
- Maintain positive relationships with local community based organizations (CBOs) and other institutions for inclusion in family-facing events and activities that could lead to securing applications
- Conduct student outreach with regular visits to local CBOs and other institutions
- Serve as the primary contact for prospective families and maintain a pipeline from inquiry through enrollment and onboarding.
- Conduct thorough researched outreach to potential families to secure new student applications for the school year.
- Schedule and attend tabling events on a weekly basis to gain applications and conduct follow up with families from these events.
- Maintain an active outside canvassing schedule
- Maintain accurate records of activity and student documents
- Schedule, manage, and lead school tours, open houses, and enrollment events in conjunction with the school SRE teams.
- Respond promptly to inquiries and provide accurate information regarding experience, curriculum, services, academics, activities, and enrollment requirements
- Post events and manage RSVPs via Eventbrite and other event management applications
- Work with School Mint, Parent Square, and other student information systems to maintain accurate information and records.
- Other responsibilities assigned by the SRE Director or COO

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree a minimum; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, student services, customer service, or sales.
- Strong public speaking skills, with the proven ability to adapt tone for families, staff, and prospective students.
- Hands-on experience planning and making presentations and carrying out activities such as school tours, open houses, canvassing, etc.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple deadlines and a recurring content calendar.
- Prior School Mint and ATS experience a plus.
- Experience in K-12 education, charter schools, or community-serving nonprofits.
- Connection to or familiarity with the South Bronx community.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Clearance for fingerprint and criminal background check.
This is a 12-month position that is partially remote.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range - 52,000 to 62,000
