Job Description Summary

Location: Remote (US or Europe) | Strong preference for candidates near a GE Vernova facility
Work Model: Remote with up to 20% domestic and international travel

About This Role
GE Vernova's Gas Power business is building the energy systems the world depends on — and the supply chain behind those systems is what makes it possible. As a Commodity Sourcing Leader, you'll own the commercial strategy for a portfolio of build-to-spec mechanical components, shaping how we work with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and deliver value across our New Units business. If you thrive on navigating complexity, driving deals, and building supplier relationships that hold up under pressure, this is where your expertise will make a tangible difference.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Own the full commercial lifecycle of supplier purchase orders for your assigned mechanical commodity categories — from strategy development through contract execution and change management.
  • Develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies that optimize safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across your supplier panel.
  • Lead supplier identification, competitive quoting, and contract negotiations to achieve optimal terms while meeting project requirements.
  • Allocate demand across suppliers, monitor capacity, and ensure GE Vernova's (GEV) delivery and quality expectations are consistently met.
  • Coordinate purchase order placement and award decisions in close partnership with Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams.
  • Resolve complex commercial issues and claims, build stakeholder alignment, and serve as a subject matter resource for less experienced team members.

Who We're Looking For

You're a commercially sharp sourcing professional who knows how to navigate supplier relationships, negotiate effectively, and drive outcomes in a fast-moving industrial environment. You bring technical grounding, sound judgment, and the ability to influence across functions.

Required Qualifications

  • A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
  • Significant experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Significant experience in developing sourcing strategies and negotiating supplier contracts.
  • Working knowledge of legal and commercial contract terms.

Preferred

  • Prior experience managing mechanical or engineered-to-spec commodity categories.
  • Familiarity with cross-functional coordination across Engineering, Quality, and Procurement functions.
  • Experience using data analytics tools to support sourcing decisions and supplier performance tracking.
