Job Description:
The Site Industrial Engineer is responsible for working with the Value Stream Managers and Industrial Engineering Manager to formalize and develop the loss prevention strategy in the value streams. This role identifies, captures and highlights data to define areas which require optimization in order to make the process stream enhance its safety, productivity and efficiency to deliver a quality product.
The Site Industrial Engineer ensures the value stream has a clear roadmap for success over time, challenges the standards to deliver increased value and support the cost savings journey for the business unit connected with the Mars Wrigley supply strategy.
What are we looking for?
Minimum:
Associates Degree in Engineering or Industrial Engineering or similar technical field of study.
2 or more years of manufacturing experience in production, engineering, or finance.
OR Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering / Industrial Engineering, or similar technical field of study.
Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity.
Preferred:
Strong analytical skills and critical thinking/challenging mindset.
Ability to work independently engaging key stakeholders to find solutions to complex requests.
Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency and ability to gather, manipulate and analyze data quickly.
Demonstrated experience in implementing Plant Optimization and Lean/TPM principles in a manufacturing environment.
Good working knowledge of cost-vs.-benefit analysis (e.g. IRR, payback period)
Familiarity with Tableau or similar modeling and database skills
What will be your key responsibilities?
Business Performance and Improvement:
Maintain and improve performance trend & loss analysis and capacity database.
Maintain and improve performance data reporting (i.e. Capacity, line performance, etc.)
Conduct capability and capacity analysis for production lines and lead bottleneck analysis.
Track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), perform trend analysis, and communicate performance against targets.
Support Activity Management (Project Management) process & be “voice of site” for new activities.
Optimize labor efficiency/staffing standards.
Lead/participate in/coach loss analysis and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in journey to zero loss (FI Pillar of TPM).
Perform regular rate reviews of product lines and own rate strategy.
Support Mars Supply Excellence Pillars and activities (FMOS, AM, FI, PM, Safety, and Quality).
Collaborate with Operations by facilitating problem solving and loss analysis on chronic problems
Perspective and Knowledge Management:
Ensure understanding of KPI performance and drivers by those impacted and make recommendations for areas of improvement.
Leverage regional and global benchmarking to identify areas for improvement.
Provide insightful and objective analysis of losses and make recommendations based on analysis.
