Description
Your job
As a Financial Markets Specialist in the Paying Agency Services team, you will be part of a small specialist team of four FTE supporting ING's Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Debt Capital Markets (DCM) activities. The team performs the operational processing and coordination required for securities issuances, listings, settlement, paying agency services, shareholder meetings, and corporate actions.
In this role, you will work closely with ECM, DCM, Financial Markets Sales and Trading, clients, issuers, external market infrastructures, and global operations teams. You will combine operational accuracy with specialist market knowledge to ensure that processes are executed accurately, on time, and in accordance with market practice and regulatory requirements.
You are expected to take ownership of operational questions and issues, identify operational breaks or risks at an early stage, and drive topics through to resolution. Given the small and specialist nature of the team, the role requires a hands-on, proactive and self-reliant mindset, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to switch between daily operational execution, client support, and continuous improvement initiatives. You are encouraged to take initiative beyond your direct task list and identify opportunities to improve processes, client service, and operational resilience.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the listing and maintenance of securities on Euronext Amsterdam, represent issuers in dealings with Euronext Amsterdam, and manage ongoing listing obligations.
- Coordinate and execute dividend payments and other distributions relating to shares, execute share issues through the Euroclear Nederland (ENL) system, and represent issuers in dealings with ENL and other (i)CSDs related to issued shares and/or bonds.
- Organize the operational aspects of shareholder meetings by providing registration and vote-instruction services through ING’s EVO platform and assisting clients at AGMs and EGMs.
- Act as a key operational contact for issuers, clients, market infrastructures, and internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of securities issuances and corporate actions.
- Investigate and resolve complex financial or positional breaks related to Paying Agency Services in a timely manner.
- Ensure the timely execution of payments while managing exceptions and manual interventions where required.
- Respond to and resolve client queries relating to Paying Agency Services and associated products.
- Maintain a strong focus on risk management, operational controls, and regulatory compliance in all activities.
- Contribute to internal and external initiatives, including continuous improvement, market developments, and regulatory change.
Your Work Environment
You will join a small, specialist Paying Agency Services team of four FTE within COO Financial Markets / GPC Operations. Because of the team’s size and specialist scope, you will have broad exposure to end-to-end operational processes supporting ECM and DCM transactions. The work environment is hands-on, collaborative, and deadline-driven, with close interaction between team members, Capital Markets stakeholders, clients, issuers, market infrastructures, and global operations teams. The team’s size requires a self-reliant and entrepreneurial mindset: team members are expected to pick up topics proactively, find practical solutions, and help shape how the service develops over time. Within the Centre of Excellence, you will also work with Manila-based teams to ensure consistent execution, knowledge sharing, and a high standard of service.
This role offers a unique opportunity to build expertise in securities issuance, corporate actions, paying agency services, and shareholder meeting services within an international capital markets environment. Given the team’s specialist nature, you will quickly gain broad exposure to end-to-end processes and have direct interaction with clients, issuers, stock exchanges, and market infrastructures.
