Junior Design Draughtsmen

Job purpose:  
Our client is seeking a Junior Design Draughtmen with experience  working within the Engineering team, responsible for producing and modifying 2D and 3D CAD designs and detailed manufacturing drawings. The role also supports concept layouts, BOMs and site measurements/3D scans.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs with the engineering team
• Create and modify models and drawings to project/client specifications
• Produce detailed manufacturing and general arrangement drawings
• Support the sales team with 3D concept layouts and BOMs
• Measure/verify equipment and parts for redesign or remanufacture
• Conduct site visits, equipment measurements and 3D scans
• Compile parts manuals and check drawings for accuracy

 

Qualifications and experience:

• National Draughting Certificate preferred
• Additional SolidWorks training advantageous
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar environment
• SolidWorks 3D CAD essential, with exposure to AutoCAD and DraftSight
• Knowledge of drawing standards and specifications
• Structural engineering, welding and fabrication shop exposure advantageous
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
• Must be able to pass mine medical assessments
