Senior Technical Services Consultant - Workday

Job Description:

At The Groove, our Technical Services Consultants are trusted technical advisors who help clients design and deliver scalable solutions across the Workday ecosystem. We are looking for an experienced Workday Integrations professional with strong Workday Financial Management expertise who can lead complex integration workstreams, partner closely with clients and functional teams, and provide technical guidance throughout the full project lifecycle.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep Workday integration expertise with a strong understanding of Financials and enjoys solving complex problems, leading client conversations, and helping develop other consultants.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of complex Workday integrations, with a strong focus on Workday Financial Management.

• Serve as a technical lead for integration workstreams, owning solution design, technical architecture, delivery quality, and key client decisions.

• Partner with Financials functional consultants, project leadership, and client stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

• Design and develop integrations using Workday technologies including Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Report-as-a-Service (RaaS), Workday Web Services, APIs, and other integration tools.

• Support integrations across Workday Financials areas including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and Settlement, Expenses, Procurement, Suppliers, Customers, Projects, Assets, and related financial processes.

• Lead integrations between Workday and banks, payment providers, procurement platforms, expense systems, tax applications, payroll providers, data warehouses, and other third-party enterprise systems.

• Work with technologies including XML, XSLT, REST, SOAP, APIs, SFTP, JSON, and related integration standards.

• Provide guidance on integration architecture, design patterns, error handling, security, performance, scalability, and Workday best practices.

• Review technical designs and development completed by other team members to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability.

• Troubleshoot complex integration and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend long-term solutions.

• Lead or support integration discovery and design sessions with client technical and functional stakeholders.

• Develop technical specifications, integration design documentation, test strategies, deployment plans, and other project deliverables.

• Participate throughout the full implementation lifecycle, including discovery, design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

• Partner with functional, reporting, security, data, and technical teams to ensure integrations align with the broader Workday solution.

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and technical considerations and communicate them proactively to project leadership and clients.

What we’re looking for:

• Significant hands-on experience designing and developing Workday integrations in implementation, optimization, and/or post-production environments.

• Strong knowledge of Workday Financial Management and the business processes and data structures that support Financials.

• Advanced experience with Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, RaaS, Workday Web Services, and APIs.

• Strong knowledge of XML, XSLT, REST, SOAP, and related integration technologies.

• Experience designing complex integrations between Workday and external financial and enterprise applications.

• Strong understanding of Workday business objects, reporting, calculated fields, security, and web services as they relate to integration development.

• Ability to independently design technical solutions and make recommendations to clients and project leadership.

• Experience leading integration workstreams or serving as the primary technical resource on Workday projects.

• Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across functional and technical teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Current or previous Workday Integration certification.

• Workday Financial Management certification or significant hands-on Financials implementation experience.

• Experience with Workday Extend, Orchestrate, Prism Analytics, Accounting Center, or other emerging Workday technologies.

• Experience with banking integrations, payment files, ACH, positive pay, procurement platforms, tax applications, expense platforms, or other financial-system integrations.

• Experience leading technical design sessions and presenting solution recommendations to client leadership.

• Prior Workday consulting experience within a professional services environment.
