Dalton Ag is a brand forged in America’s heartland and proud to be the premier fertilizer application equipment manufacturer since 1996. A Welder’s primary responsibility is MIG welding of steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

· MIG welding including the following:

o Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)

o Inspect welds for accuracy & quality

o Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel

o Change welding wire as needed

o Change gas tanks as needed

· Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper location

· Ability to read measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures

· Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner with all safety devices in place

· Perform first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required

· Perform simple maintenance and repair as required

· Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plant

· Accurately enter data into the ERP system, Epicor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· One year experience with MIG welding, preferred

· Candidates must pass basic MIG welding test

· Position requires basic math and computer skills

· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Working knowledge of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measure

· Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle and feel objects, tools, or control

· Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

· Regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds (25), and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds

Working Conditions:

· Manufacturing environment

· Daily exposure to hot, cold, dusty, noisy environment

· Occasional to frequent outdoor work

· Potential to work at different area workstations to meet production needs

Required Personal Protective Equipment:

· Safety glasses

· Safety-toed shoes 

· Hearing protection

· Face shields as needed

· Other PPE as required
