What You Will Do:
- Support USDA Rural Development financial operations through accounting, reconciliations, reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness.
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations, including General Ledger, FBWT, SF-224, adjusted trial balance, financial statement, and DATA Act reconciliations.
- Analyze accounting and financial data, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, account analyses, supporting schedules, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Support Treasury reporting, financial systems validation, and financial data quality reviews.
- Develop audit-ready documentation and support responses to audit and oversight requests.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, training, and special projects.
What You Will Need:
- Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Four (4+) plus years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, or government financial management.
- Experience with General Ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial systems and large datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- CPA, CGFM, CMA, CDFM, or other relevant professional certification.
- Prior consulting experience supporting federal clients.
- Additional years of accounting, financial management, or audit experience.
- Experience with federal accounting, Treasury reporting, DATA Act reporting, FBWT, SF-224, and financial statement support.
- Experience supporting USDA or other federal civilian agencies.
- Experience supporting audits, internal controls, compliance reviews, and corrective action efforts.
