Funshine Early Learning Center Teacher

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Funshine Early Learning Teacher serves under the general supervision of the Funshine Early Learning Center Coordinator and works alongside classroom aides to provide a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. The teacher leads classroom activities, supervision, preparation, and the day-to-day needs of the Early Learning Center Program.

We are currently hiring for our morning classes, Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9:00 AM–12:30 PM.

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

 

• Plan, develop, and conduct daily classroom activities.
• Supervise and interact with children in a positive and supportive manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
• Support children's social, emotional, and educational development.
• Follow all safety and center policies.
• Teachers are required to attend any special events, activities, and all staff meetings

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent required.
• Early Childhood Education coursework, or related experience preferred.

 

Experience:

• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.

 

Skills/Abilities:

• Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds when required.
• Good public relations skills and customer service skills.
• Be able to work with children and their families.
• Ability to work with all ages.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
• Good public relations skills and customer service skills.

 

• This position may require use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have a good driving record.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

• Working conditions may vary
• Most work will be in a classroom setting
• No significantly hazardous conditions exist
