The Team:

S&P Global Ratings' UK Compliance team provides essential oversight within a dynamic international regulatory landscape, fostering a culture of sound decision-making, transparency, and continuous improvement. The team operates at the intersection of regulatory oversight and business advisory, engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across Ratings, including senior management, policymakers, and cross-divisional colleagues across S&P Global. This is a high-visibility role that supports the Ratings business in meeting its compliance and regulatory obligations, upholding S&P Global's position as an independent, objective provider of credit ratings.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Deliver a credible and responsive compliance advisory service to the Ratings business and key support functions, providing guidance on regulatory obligations and emerging compliance matters.

  • Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments, and monitoring activities, identifying weaknesses and recommending corrective actions to protect the integrity of the Ratings business.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk Management, In-Business Controls, and People teams to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels and resolve complex regulatory matters effectively, including escalating potential violations to the relevant enforcement authorities as required.

  • Prepare and deliver regular compliance reports for the Chief Compliance Officer, UK (CCO UK) and regional senior management, including materials for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Ratings Compliance Committee and Board meetings.

  • Participate in relevant committees and provide advisory services to the CCO UK and senior management on significant compliance and regulatory developments.

  • Design and deliver compliance training for new joiners and in response to new or updated policies, ensuring teams across the Ratings business remain informed and equipped.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in compliance within financial services, investment banking, a credit rating agency, a regulatory consultancy, or a regulatory body.

  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with evolving regulatory requirements and apply sound analytical judgment to identify, assess, and resolve compliance issues.

  • Proven experience engaging and advising senior stakeholders on complex compliance matters, with the ability to manage challenging situations confidently and constructively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory information into clear, actionable guidance and deliver compliance training across all levels of an organization.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau for management reporting.

  • Familiarity with generative AI and automation tools and processes.

Additional Information

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
