Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor at PepsiCo's facility in Little Island Cork will be responsible for leading the sites preventive and predictive maintenance program, troubleshooting technical issues across labs, pilot plant utilities and office facilities, while driving continuous improvement in maintenance execution. This role plays a critical part in supporting equipment uptime, asset care, audit readiness and maintenance excellence across the Cork R&D campus. This person will report to the Facilities Assoc Manager and work closely with Automation, Electrical, Safety, Quality, Facilities and R&D Operations teams. 

 

 

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate the electrical work activities of the Facilities department. This will include having a plan in place to execute daily resource balancing and prioritising.
• Provide added support to day-to-day trouble shooting of electrical equipment on the Cork R&D campus.
• Conducting root-cause analysis to get to the genuine cause of day-to-day issues and to help identify corrective actions. 
• Accurate detailed reporting of issues which have caused, or have the potential to cause operational, GMP or health & safety problems on the Cork R&D campus.
• Partnering with the Tech Services Quality team, ensure that all activities in the team are completed within current GMP guidelines and continually raise the level of compliance in the team.
• Ensuring that all health, safety and environmental rules are adhered to.
• Implementing the change control procedure as required.
• Liaising with the various Cork R&D campus business units and contractors to ensure compliance with our Contractor Management, LOTO & Permit to Work Procedures, writing permits to work as required.
• Assisting in the preparation of the documentation for any audit which involves the Facilities team
• Track adherence to maintenance schedules with a special focus on statutory compliance

 

Maintenance Execution & Reliability•    Lead daily electrical maintenance activities to ensure safe, effective, and timely execution of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work.•    Plan, schedule, and release maintenance work orders using the current Transform CMMS, ensuring high PM compliance and maintenance readiness.•    Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control related issues, supporting R&D and pilot plant operations in real time.•    Perform root cause analysis and develop downtime reduction action plans.•    Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, labour hours, and failure codes within SAP.•    Support reliability initiatives that improve equipment performance and extend asset life.

 

Electrical Systems & Automation•    Oversee and maintain sitewide electrical systems, including distribution boards, MCCs, control panels, and electrical safety systems.•    Lead electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and corrective actions across labs, pilot plant, utilities, and office facilities.•    Support and maintain automation and control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and low voltage control circuits.•    Coordinate and support upgrades to existing electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with standards and future proofing for R&D needs.•    Oversee maintenance and performance of solar PV systems, ensuring safe operation and integration with site utilities.•    Ensure all electrical work complies with ETCI, IS 10101, and PepsiCo electrical safety standards.

 

People Leadership & Team Development•    Supervise, coach any new members which may be added to the team.•    Build a high performance culture focused on reliability, ownership, and continuous improvement.•    Lead daily tier meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure team workload is balanced and aligned with site needs.•    Support training, competency development, and performance reviews.

 

Safety & Compliance•    Drive a strong safety culture and ensure strict adherence to LOTO, Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, and contractor management processes.•    Have a good understanding of our current equipment and processes.•    Excellent communications skills; both written and verbal.•    Strong administration skills including word and excel.•    Experience of managing suppliers to achieve on-time and on-cost performance•    Demonstrate project leadership, interpersonal skills, and effective communication.•    Experience with using Transform PM is a distinct advantage.•    Ability to analyse service reports and statutory compliance requirements and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner, with precise attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy 

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification: Time‑served Electrician, Electrical Engineering degree, or equivalent recognised electrical certification.
• Technical qualification in Engineering or Maintenance discipline (Electrical strongly preferred).
• 7–10 years’ experience in industrial, R&D, laboratory, or pilot‑plant environments.
• Strong experience in maintenance supervision or senior maintenance/engineering roles.
• Strong experience with CMMS systems. ( Familarty with Transform CMMS would be an advantage)
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automation, and controls troubleshooting.
• Experience working with MCCs, control panels, and electrical distribution systems.
• Be capable of taking part in Factory Acceptance tests and Site Acceptance Texts
• Demonstrated leadership ability and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity R&D and pilot‑plant environment.
• Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proven track record in safety leadership.
