The Specialty Equipment division is building a data intelligence team to improve decisions, strengthen client value, and increase operational efficiency. The Business Intelligence Manager leads that team and implements the project work needed for data analytics initiative. This role manages analytics and data science talent and partners with senior leaders to turn data into insight, better client outcomes, and stronger results for Great American Insurance.

To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on‑site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Leads the data analytics team; sets vision, roadmap, and delivery priorities in alignment with divisional initiatives
Partners with senior leaders across underwriting, service, finance, and integration to identify the metrics and insights needed to run and grow the business
Oversees execution of key deliverables on the divisional data analytics roadmap, including improvements to data sources, tools, and capabilities.
Directs the design, development, and deployment of analytics products, dashboards, predictive models, and AI‑enabled solutions that support business goals
Collaborates with shared services, and external vendors to ensure divisional solutions are practical, adoptable, and well‑integrated
Communicates results and recommendations to divisional and enterprise leadership through clear narratives, visuals, and executive‑ready storytelling
Monitors model performance, data quality, and controls; escalates and remediates issues that put decisions or client deliverables at risk
Coaches, and develops a small group of data experts; sets performance expectations and supports career growth
Champions data literacy across the division; guides training and change management so analytics and AI become part of daily workflows
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7 or more years of related experience. 4 or more years of demonstrated experience leading analytics, reporting, or data science delivery, including direct people management or team lead responsibility
Track record of translating business strategy into analytics roadmaps, deliverables, and measurable outcomes
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; comfortable structuring ambiguous problems and defining success metrics
Working knowledge of modern data practices (data sourcing, quality, modeling, and governance) and hands‑on familiarity with SQL and at least one modeling or scripting language
Experience with BI and analytics tooling (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel) sufficient to guide the team and review work products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to move fluently between technical detail and executive summary
Comfortable with travel up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in insurance, financial services, or other risk‑oriented businesses
Experience delivering client‑facing analytics or “insight” digital products
Familiarity with cloud data platforms used in the organization (e.g., Snowflake) and enterprise BI environments
Experience piloting and operationalizing AI use cases in partnership with IT and business teams
Experience standing up or maturing a data governance program – report catalogues, data dictionaries, lineage, definitions, and controls
