As part of our Lumber Yard team at our Dartmouth Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our Division Manager. You will be responsible for efficiently managing the warehouse and yard as well as directing and supervising yard staff to reach daily goals. This is a full-time position at our Dartmouth location.Expectations: Supervise and assist the following yard activities:Loading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner Loading orders onto customer trucks Receiving incoming freight Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks Maintain a tidy and organized lumber yard and warehouseCompliance with all work safety rules and regulations Politeness and professionalism with all customers and truck driversSupervise and assist the loading and unloading of building materials operating a forkliftPreparation and packing of customer orders in a timely and detailed mannerIdeal Attributes:High School DiplomaForklift Training and Experience RequiredMinimum of two years managing/supervising a lumber yard and/or warehouse experience is a definite assetAbility to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary Knowledge of the building materials industry is an asset  Able to work in outdoor conditions Flexibility with start and finish times Reliable and punctualSelf-motivated and able to work with little to no supervisionAdditional Information:Group Benefit Plan available (Employer paid)RRSP Contribution availableCompetitive compensation packages availableDiscretionary bonus option is availableOpportunities for advancement within the companyJob Types: Full-time, PermanentCompensation: $25-$30 per hour, 45 hours per week excluding lunch breaksGillfor Distribution is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
