Laser Operator

 

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Laser Operator role in Vancouver, WA. Our client is a well-established manufacturing company known for quality, precision, and a commitment to excellence. This position is ideal for an experienced CNC laser operator with a strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication.

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with occasional required overtime
Pay: $25–$27/hour DOE

Key Responsibilities:

· Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment, including downloading programs, verifying cut conditions, loading material, and running and inspecting first article parts.

· Coordinate with press brake operators to ensure a smooth transition of parts from laser cutting to bending.

· Prioritize job orders based on deadlines, material availability, and production schedules.

· Document production activities, material usage, hot or priority jobs, schedule variances, quality concerns, and rework.

· Inspect parts according to Process Control Instructions and make authorized machine adjustments when quality issues are identified.

· Consistently meet established production and quality requirements.

· Assist with training new laser operators as needed.

· Perform routine and preventative machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, filter changes, slag removal, lens cleaning, gas changes, conveyor maintenance, optical alignment, and other required upkeep.

· Troubleshoot mechanical issues with laser equipment and take appropriate corrective action.

· Provide warehouse support as needed, including cycle counting raw material inventory.

· Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials and support production.

Qualifications:

· 1–3 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machines required.

· TRUMPF laser experience highly preferred.

· Experience working with sheet metal, including aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.

· Familiarity with CNC programming basics and basic computer systems.

· Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues.

· Forklift experience and ability to safely move raw materials.

· Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to effectively manage time and meet production schedules.

· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with fabrication and production teams.

· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

· Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with occasional required overtime.
