What Will You Do as a COTA?

Working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you'll help residents improve the skills they need to participate more independently in everyday life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Helping residents improve activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting and self-care
• Addressing strength, balance, coordination, endurance and functional mobility as they relate to daily activities
• Providing therapeutic activities designed to improve independence and safety
• Monitoring resident response to treatment and communicating progress with the supervising OT
• Educating residents, families and caregivers on strategies that support continued success
• Collaborating with PT, OT, SLP, nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current or eligible Pennsylvania Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
• Skilled nursing, geriatric or rehabilitation experience is a plus, but not required
• New graduates are encouraged to apply
