KCC Cosmetology Sanitation (KCC STUDENTS ONLY)

The KCC Cosmetology Sanitation Student Worker is responsible for assisting with the daily cleaning, sanitation, and general upkeep of the cosmetology facility. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized salon as per Oregon Health Authority regulations.

The student worker will perform routine cleaning tasks throughout the cosmetology building, including salon areas, workstations, common areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces. The position requires attention to detail, reliability, initiative, and the ability to follow established cleaning and sanitation procedures.

The Student Worker provides temporary, part-time support to Klamath Community College departments through a variety of administrative, operational, academic, technical, customer service, or program-related activities. Duties will vary based on the needs of the department and the specific position.

This is a temporary, as-needed/scheduled position of up to 20 hours per week. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, and actual hours worked will vary based on departmental needs, student availability, and the established work schedule.

Student Workers are expected to perform assigned duties responsibly, maintain confidentiality as appropriate, provide professional and courteous service, and follow Klamath Community College policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

This job will report to KCC Cosmetology at 357 E. Main St. Klamath Falls, OR 97601.

• Assist with maintaining an orderly and professional appearance of the cosmetology facility.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors throughout assigned areas.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, floors, and high-touch surfaces.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, doors, windowsills, and other surfaces as assigned
• Follow proper procedures for the use, storage, and disposal of cleaning supplies and materials.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, spills, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Replenish paper products, soap, sanitation supplies, and other cleaning materials as assigned.
• Follow all college, campus, and cosmetology program health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties within established timeframes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Must be a currently enrolled KCC student, enrolled in 6 or more credits, and in good academic standing.

• Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed at Klamath Community College.
