eBay is the leading Collectibles marketplace worldwide, catering to millions of customers across the globe. Our mission is to be the most trusted and beloved destination for collectors of trading cards, memorabilia, comics, and more.
The Trading Cards team ranks as one of the quickest growing segments at eBay. We seek a business leader to lead monetization, pricing, and assortment approaches to boost GMV growth and grow marketshare. The role aims to build buyer and seller ust and keep our selection appealing to collectors worldwide. This position offers high visibility and requires close cooperation with senior leaders in Collectibles and frequent contact with GM-level executives.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Manager, Pricing & Assortment Strategy to identify, prioritize, and complete growth levers across pricing, assortment mix, and monetization opportunities. This role blends critical thinking with hands-on analysis and requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Analytics, Marketing, Monetization, Finance, and Category Management teams. You will regularly present findings and recommendations to Collectibles executives, including the GM, and ensure their work directly informs high-impact business decisions.
Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement scalable frameworks and pricing strategies that improve revenue while maintaining marketplace competitiveness and appeal to sellers.
Assortment Strategy: Develop strategies to attract seller supply, identify whitespace opportunities, and improve selection breadth, depth, and quality.
Pricing Insights: Lead pricing analyses and test-and-learn initiatives to assess price elasticity, promotional efficiency, and marketplace competitiveness.
Competitive Research: Monitor competitive and industry trends across trading cards and adjacent marketplaces, assessing pricing, differentiated services, and customer experience to find opportunities and inform recommendations.
Identify Growth Opportunites: Discover and quantify GMV and revenue opportunities throughout the trading cards ecosystem, presenting clear and actionable suggestions for leadership.
Executive Engagement: Partner directly with Collectibles leadership, preparing and delivering executive-ready presentations that drive alignment on strategy and priorities.
Business Reporting: Collaborate with Analytics to build and improve dashboards, reports, and benchmark frameworks that track critical levers and inform business decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Analytics, Marketing, Product, Finance, Monetization, and Operations to drive high-impact initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
8+ years of experience in strategy, category management, pricing, or business operations, with experience in ecommerce, retail, or consumer tech preferred.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to ask the right business questions and translate complex data into actionable insights.
Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, shown by working with complex datasets and collaborating with Analytics/Data Science teams to develop and refine sophisticated models.
Proven track record in pricing strategy, monetization, or revenue optimization.
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations and influence senior collaborators.
Demonstrated ability to leverage LLMs and AI tools for deep research, modeling and analysis, and developing business proposals and recommendations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
BA/BS degree or equivalent.
Preferred:
Experience in marketplaces, collectibles, or interest-based categories.
Experience using SQL, Python, or other programming languages to analyze data, generate insights, and support business decision-making.
Familiarity with assortment strategy, pricing elasticity modeling, and benchmark optimization.
MBA or advanced degree.

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$103,600 - $177,800Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
