Description
Perform on the floor leadership responsibilities to groups of associates engaged in departmental operations. The person in this position acts as a working leader insuring all activities are accomplished safely, efficiently, accurately and on time each day. Responsible for the daily performance of the team insuring Company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Safety / Compliance of the Law

• Follows all safety, hazardous and OSHA standards – reports mishaps
• Carries out policies including the Code of Business Ethics, and procedures and works to the performance standards as defined for the location.

• Provides value added service at every interaction with associates or product
• Shows self-motivation; responsible for actions & results for self and the team
• Leads the team, directs and monitors their work
• Prepares and maintains reports for the team; sets standards and holds associates accountable for their performance; initiates disciplinary action when necessary
• Assigns daily work - schedules and approves vacations/time off
Continuous Improvement / Lean Concepts
• Uses formal and informal tools and techniques to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement; maintains a high level of operational knowledge and acts as a mentor for the team
• Conducts Lean audits of the department and acts on inefficiencies
• Holds regularly scheduled team meetings
• Maintains a constant focus on Lean fundamentals and continuous learning to improve performance, quality and efficiency of work processes.
• Maintain accurate, complete and timely records of business transactions.
• Access to assets within area of responsibility is permitted only in accordance with general or specific authorization.
Customer Service
• Communicates with customers in a clear, concise, timely and professional manner and follows up as necessary; is always professional and represents the organization positively.
• Dedicated to customer needs and delivers on commitments with urgency
Fulfillment Center Standardization
• Reduce complexity; drive standardization in our data and processes; deliver on customer expectations; eliminate downtime.
• Drives processes to reduce costs, improve cycle time, increase sales/gross profit and satisfy customers.
• Assists with training, coaching and evaluating performance clearly defining Distribution Center objectives insuring positive results are achieved by the team
• Makes recommendations to senior management regarding merit increases or disciplinary actions for team members based on their performance
• Assists with interviewing and job training for new hires
• Performs actual work with team members when assigned or required
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed by management
Job Requirements Qualifications/ Education:
• Equivalent to a high school degree.
• Specialized training in Customer Service techniques preferred.
Business and/or Functional Skills/ Knowledge:
• Persuasive communicator / strong facilitator / structured and logical thinker
• Solid computer skills: Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.
• WMS experience preferred
• Lean background preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Ability to challenge the status quo
• Self-directed, proven leader
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Can successfully multi-task
• Possesses a “Can Do” attitude
•Team player
Experience (years):
• 1-3 years warehousing and distribution experience.
