Description
Position: Infusion Nurse - Part-Time
Job Summary:
Demonstrate proficient infusion skills. Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
- Be a licensed nurse, with a current license.
- Minimum of one year of infusion nursing or home health experience.
- Work positively and favorably with patients, families, and staff.

- Perform the infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.*
- Establish intravenous access per policy and procedure.*
- Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurses note timely.*
- Monitor reactions and patient progress.*
- Educate patients and/or caregivers on disease processes, medications, side effects/risks.
- Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy.*
- Notify the physician and other personnel (CEO) of change in the patient’s condition.*
- Perform skill outline in the agency’s approved policy and procedure manual.*
- Update clinical records according to policy and procedures.*
- Update knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually.*
- Perform inventory count before and after clinic daily, communicate needs to [email protected].
- Communicate supply needs prn to [email protected].
- Adhere to safe nursing practice standards.
- Maintain professionalism with patient and client staff.
- Obtain satisfaction surveys from patients prn.
- Collect co-pays as required.
- Call no-show patients prn.
- Be knowledgeable about medications to be administered.Reference RxTool Kit.
- Mix medication per policy and procedure (never before pt arrival).
- Adhere to Medicaid and Medicare regulations.*
