Job Summary:
The Metrologist will calibrate, repair, and maintain precision measuring equipment, such as electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, and optical Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Also provides engineering support to Calibration Specialists within the calibration laboratory.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interprets complex equipment specifications to develop reliable calibration methods, procedures, data sheets, and test reports. Maintains and updates existing inventory of calibration procedures and forms.
- Performs analysis to determine measurement process capabilities and measurement uncertainties.
- Identifies, recommends, and evaluates test and measuring equipment to maintain and improve laboratory capabilities.
- Assists technicians with technical issues and problems, including troubleshooting broken equipment and resolving measurement issues. This includes in-place calibrations as well as in-lab calibrations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
