Overview
As an R&D Technician at LATICRETE, you'll prepare formulations and conduct testing under the direction of staff members. Your responsibilities include performing physical testing on experimental or standard products, recording and reporting test results, maintaining laboratory safety and security, and keeping the R&D lab clean and efficiently operating. You'll need to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have strong analytical abilities. The role requires 2-4 years of experience in a research lab or minimum 1 year in a construction materials laboratory, with knowledge of QC and laboratory environments. You'll work with chemicals, maintain formula security, and provide innovative suggestions for improved testing methods.

Overview:
Responsible for preparing formulations and conducting testing under the direction of staff member
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform physical testing on experimental or standard products as directed by staff member.
- Record and report test results in an approved manner.
- Knowledgeable with hazards and safety procedures of chemicals used in R&D lab environment.
- Maintain absolute security over batching and formula sheets at night, weekends or when not in use. Insure that only authorized personnel have access to formulas.
- Maintain a clean and efficiently operating R&D laboratory.
- Maintain clean and properly operating testing equipment.
- Provide innovative suggestions for improved performance tests and methods. Implement special technical projects as assigned by supervisor.
Nonessential Job Functions:
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Job Specifications/Skills:
- 2-4 years’ experience in a research lab or a minimum of 1 year experience in a construction material laboratory is required.
- Work exposure to QC and Laboratory environment.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented and have strong analytical ability.
- Team Cooperation - maintain positive, cooperative, professional attitude with all LATICRETE employees and all customers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter and ability to multi-task.
- Computer skills: Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Bending and reaching to file. Infrequent ability to lift/move up to minimum of 50 pounds.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma, Associates Degree in Science Preferred
