Description
We are looking to hire a Senior Valuation Actuary to join our team. You will be expected to make a significant contribution to the enhancement of ****Re’s Life & Health valuation and control infrastructure in the region. The position is based in Singapore or Hong Kong.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Quarterly production and analysis of ****Re’s L&H business in Asia with a specific focus on Long-term business. Reporting frameworks include US GAAP, IFRS17, MAS, Solvency II. Analysis will be accompanied by improving processes, tools and documentation as well as effective communication of results and coaching of junior members of the team.
- Active monitoring of the performance of your portfolio and appropriate setting of best estimate assumptions for the valuation.
- Exposure to other responsibilities of the APAC Valuation team, including in-force management and support and implementation of global initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
A technically excellent individual with competence and mindset to enable you to add value in areas outside your immediate area of expertise. Moreover, you ideally have the following background and skills:
- Qualified Actuary with at least 8 years of life (re-)insurance industry experience
- Detailed knowledge of one or more solvency regimes
- Knowledge of financing business
- High degree of accountability
- Ability to maintain an effective control environment
- Highly cooperative, flexible, and enthusiastic team-player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
