Overview

Swissport is a global leader in aviation services, providing Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, and Passenger Services to over 300 million passengers every year.

Our mission? To deliver consistent, tailor-made solutions for an exceptional customer experience.

At Swissport, it’s our people who make the difference. Our core values "Show You Care, Do the Right Things, and Win as a Team" guide everything we do. We are looking for motivated colleagues at Schiphol who want to help us ensure a safe and efficient airport operation.

What you’ll do

Ever wondered what happens to luggage after it disappears on the conveyor belt? A single suitcase can travel up to 20 kilometers through Schiphol’s baggage system before being loaded onto an aircraft. As a Baggage Handler, you play a crucial role in this process.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Transporting departing, arriving, and transfer baggage;

  • Loading and unloading baggage on the platform;

  • Following strict safety and quality standards;

  • Ensuring the baggage process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your work takes place in both the baggage hall and on the aircraft platform. For this reason, a valid EU category B driver’s license is required.

Who you are

  • Willing to work 30.4 to 38 hours per week in rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Hold a valid EU category B driver’s license;

  • Physically fit and capable of handling demanding tasks;

  • A team player who is flexible and stress-resistant;

  • Committed to safety and quality in all that you do;

  • Proficient in Dutch and English (minimum B1/B2 level).

What we offer

  • A starting salary of €2,706 gross per month (excluding allowances, based on a 38-hour work week) and ample opportunities for career growth;

  • One-year contract with a two-month probation period;

  • Paid training and onboarding program;

  • Shift allowances for evenings, nights, and weekends;

  • 25 vacation days;

  • Travel allowance, discounted parking, and free bus transport around Schiphol;

  • Attractive pension scheme;

  • Extra benefits such as free fruit at the workplace, participation in a collective health insurance plan, health check-ups via Pago, access to our company app Oneapp, discounts on products, travel, and at Schiphol Plaza (including dining), as well as annual events like the Christmas market and summer BBQ.
