Description
The Locksmith carries out repair, maintenance and replacement of doors, door locks and related hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out the repair, maintenance and replacement of doors, door locks and related hardware (including passenger suitcases).
- Makes new and spare keys.
- Keeps inventory on tools and materials.
- Other duties as assigned by FTSO.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
License and/or schooling
- Flag State issued Seaman Book
Experience
- Prior experience at HAL preferred
- Minimum 2 years vessel experience.
Training required prior to boarding
- STCW – Basic Safety Training certificate (part 4)
- STCW – Familiarization and crowd management training
- STCW – Security Awareness
Physical Demands
- For the safety of yourself and others on board certain physical abilities are expected to be maintained.
- Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motion, and repetitively heavy lift.
- Must be able to work varied shifts which can average up to 12 hours per day everyday while on board.
- Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with job.
