The Project Manager will lead communication among all project stakeholders, including owners, engineering consultants, and trade partners. This role requires managing technical risk, ensuring quality control, and monitoring progress against the schedule. Additional skillsets are pricing work, creating proposals, and general business development activities through building a brand in the market. Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for the technical aspects of restoration and a dedication to getting the job done right.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all activities related to contract administration, change orders, procurement of specialized restoration materials, project schedule, and financial reporting.

  • Have thorough knowledge of the company's contracts and a deep understanding of all parties involved, including the technical scope defined by engineering partners.

  • Perform detailed review of structural/architectural drawings, engineering reports, and specifications to inform project planning, cost estimates, and constructability reviews.

  • Develop and manage project-specific work plans, quality control procedures, and safety protocols for restoration activities, including work in occupied spaces.

  • Manage both self-perform crews and subcontractors specializing in concrete repair, waterproofing, and other building envelope systems.

  • Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges related to unforeseen field conditions, material compatibility, or repair methodologies.

  • Secure required permits and verify insurance coverage for subcontractors.

  • Facilitate project meetings to successfully coordinate work activity with owners, consultants, and trade partners.

  • Lead, train, and develop project team members, fostering their technical knowledge of restoration.

  • Prepare and submit monthly job status reports that clearly outline project priorities, financial health, schedule adherence, and technical issues.

  • Lead project close-out, including turnover of as-builts, material data, manuals, and warranties, and prepare final payment documents for subcontractors.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering, and design firms.

  • Establish and monitor project milestones and drive the project schedule.

  • Drive a culture of safety on the project site, with specific attention to silica, fall protection, and logistics in occupied environments.

  • Support the company’s acquisition of new work by participating in proposals, presentations, and constructability reviews.

  • Proactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals, including engineers, consultants, and suppliers, to generate and win the right work.

  • Take an active role in recruiting top industry talent to join the Tekton Building Solutions Group team. Identify, hire, and retain outstanding people.

  • Exceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, or Architectural preferred), building science, construction management, or a related discipline.

  • 4+ years of construction experience with a general contractor or specialty restoration contractor, with direct project management experience in structural concrete repair and building envelope/facade restoration.

  • 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of structural concrete repair methods (e.g., patching, form and pump, post-tension repair, shotcrete, cathodic protection) and building envelope systems (e.g., waterproofing, air barriers, coatings, sealants, masonry/facade stabilization).

  • Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish, including estimating and pricing complex restoration work.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret structural and other contract drawings, technical specifications, and third-party engineering reports.

  • Skilled at developing and negotiating relationships with owners, engineering consultants, and trade contractors.

  • Strong work ethic, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Alignment to our 3 Keys to Success: Enthusiasm & Drive, Delivery & Performance, and Learn & Grow.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ICRI (International Concrete Repair Institute) Certifications (e.g., Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician).
