Understanding of common disorders
The colleague helps perform critical tasks that ensure patients are well cared for and safe during their hospital stay. Checking vital signs, keeping patients clean, and other duties are extremely important for patients’ care and satisfaction.
The CNA will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
- Collect patient information
- Take vital signs
- Answer patient calls
- Serve meals, help patients eat, document their food and liquid intake
- Turn or reposition patients
- Examine patients for bruises, blood in urine, or other injuries/wounds
- Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables, etc.
- Transport patients
- Change bed sheets, empty bedpans, and restock rooms with necessary supplies
- Clean and sanitize patient areas
- Understanding common disorders
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION – TRAINING – KNOWLEDGE – EXPERIENCE - SKILLS
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- FL or Multi-State CNA license in good standing
- Current BLS (AHA or ASHI)
(Can be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Demonstrate competencies in appropriate areas
- Good communication and listening skills
- Must be able to speak, read and write the English language
