In addition, having a friendly and upbeat personality are essential.RESPONSIBILITIES:Handle cash transactions with customers using cash registersScan goods and collect paymentsIssue receipts, refunds, and changeRedeem shopper cards and couponsMake sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new onesResolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant informationGreet customers when entering or leaving establishmentMaintain clean and tidy checkout areasKeep reports of transaction voids and refundsBag customer purchasesPleasantly interact with customers to ensure satisfactionKnowledgeable on store promotional activities, including community engagement and in-store experienceprograms.Basic knowledge of store merchandise categories and locations.Ability to answer store telephone in accordance with company guidelines.Ability to stand 100% of shift.Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.Perform alternative tasks throughout the store as designated by manager.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Duties are performed primarily at the register. However, a Cashier may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work includes walking, standing, lifting, moving, carrying and stocking product, along with interaction with customers, associates, truck drivers and vendors.
