The Role and Your Mission:
In order to strengthen our Financial Team in Bucharest, we are looking for a General Ledger Accountant on a fixed-term basis to cover Maternity Leave, with the potential of being extended.
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will ensure accuracy of transactions posted in both US GAAP and Local, being involved in month-end close related activities, statutory fiscal declarations and ensuring the reporting deadlines are met.
We will count on you to:
- Assist with the development, implementation and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures and process improvements for general accounting functions.
- Verify work of and provide guidance to less experienced levels of accountants or offshore staff. Provide functional advice or training to less-experienced accountant positions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, SSAE16 procedures, tax regulations, local GAAP and US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial matters.
- Ensure the accuracy of the transactions related to month-end close and ensure all the reporting deadlines required by the Company are met.
- Prepare/review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations in accurate manner.
- Liaise with the internal accounting company, the external company’s consultants, and auditors.
- Ensure any ad-hoc reporting that might be required is delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support year-end process (audit, statutory accounts).
- Support other function colleagues in accounting matters.
- Our hybrid model allows to work 2 days remotely and 3 days from our Bucharest office.
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
- At least 3 years of experience on independent position in a Finance/Accounting department.
- General ledger accounting experience.
- Computer proficient, very good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English.
