Description
We are a young startup with a bold vision to become the commerce and financial technology backbone of construction - one of the world’s largest industries. Founded by serial entrepreneurs with exits to Fortune 500 companies (including Paypal), Field Materials has partnered with prominent VC funds in Silicon Valley to build a world class team with a mission to digitize and democratize construction material purchasing. This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level an industry transforming company.
Our company is the people we hire. We aspire to build a team of smart, high-caliber players that inspire each other to excel yet are not afraid to leave egos behind, roll up their sleeves and fix what doesn’t work. We don’t believe in micromanagement and trust our team to take full ownership of their responsibilities. We believe in transparency as a way to build trust, break communication barriers, and align towards a common goal. Finally, we want our people to stay and grow with the company and the only way to achieve this is by providing them with above-market-rate compensation, premier benefits, and generous stock options.
We're looking for a Frontend Engineer with experience building web and mobile interfaces and interactive web/mobile components. - You have passion for user experience and design and an understanding of front-end architecture
- You realize that products are built iteratively and specs evolve with customer feedback
- You care about elegant code design: well architected code is easier to understand, refactor, evolve, and inherit
- You care about products that have massive economic impact and have interest in FinTech
What we look for:
- 3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- 1+ years of work experience with a JavaScript frontend framework, preferably React
- Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, accessibility, security and usability
- Eye for design, product details, and polish
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with server-side development is a plus
- Experience with GraphQL is a plus
