Overview:

Senior Associate Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of more complex General Ledger postings, clarification and resolution of open issues with requestors/source of the G/L entry for the Mitel Group legal entities. Has to provide guidance and share knowledge with junior members of the Team.

The scope of responsibilities may expand significantly due to the upcoming migrating SAP environments. The selected candidate may be expected to take on additional tasks and assume responsibility for countries such as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with the potential to cover additional countries over time.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the correctness of the G/L entries in compliance with the Mitel Group Financial Reporting Guidelines as well as local GAAP requirements.

• Preparation and validation of data for areas of individual responsibility as they pertain to Month end, Quarter end and Annual Closing.

• Identification and resolution of General Ledger problems within their specific area of concentration including balance sheet reconciliations

• Acts as a subject matter expert within Accounting you will be the 2nd line of escalation for queries related to all accounting processes

• A high level of interaction with different Groups within and out of SSC.

• Performs analytical reviews for his/her specific areas of responsibility for inclusion within the overall Finance review

• Provides accounting advice and guidance to other Mitel Group departments  (e.g. order processing, controlling)

• Drives and supports change activities within the SSC and wider business as pertaining to Finance

• Motivation of, provision of guidance and mentoring of Associates

• Working with the Team Leader in such areas as: succession planning for the team; recruiting and developing team members and successfully inducting them into the organization;

Requirements:

• University degree in economics / finance or equivalent education

• Minimum 3 years experience in accounting and General Ledger accounting

• Experience in Bank and Account Reconciliations

• SAP, Blackline, MS Office (advanced excel skills)

• Strong Analytical Skills

• Self-disciplined, independent, organized and responsible.

• Good Communication Skills

• Customer oriented

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is required

• Fluent English

• Possession of German language skills at B2 level (written and verbal) will be regarded as an asset.
