AVP Corporate Tax Manager
Full-time Position
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Vice President (AVP) Corporate Tax Manager to join our dynamic financial services organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate tax, with specific expertise in the financial services sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage complex tax initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the strategic growth of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of corporate tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the organization and its subsidiaries
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns, as well as other required tax filings
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and provide expert advice to senior management and other stakeholders
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities
- Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely tax provision calculations and disclosures
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization and implementing necessary adjustments
- Develop and maintain documentation of tax processes, controls, and risk management procedures
- Participate in tax planning for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to identify tax-efficient business structures and opportunities
- Prepare and present tax-related reports and analyses to senior management and the board of directors
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with a focus on financial services
- CPA certification
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS as they relate to income taxes
- Proficiency in tax software applications and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Taxation or related field
- Experience with international tax planning and compliance
- Knowledge of transfer pricing principles
- Familiarity with tax technology solutions and data analytics tools
