Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Entry Control Operations in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utility location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor access activity to support a secure environment. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and help address security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor records, and direct individuals in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, facility areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete incident reports, and communicate relevant security-related information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
